RAW BAND was created to bring back a mix of Latin, Funk, Jazz, R&B, and Soul music to Share with all we meet. Formed in 2020. RAW is a tribute band to the group WAR. RAW covers the musical flavors of WAR that bring together rock, funk, Latin rhythm and blues, and psychedelia and reggae. Just like WAR, RAW wants to transcend racial and cultural barriers that even exist today in music. We the WAR tribute band want to keep The WAR music alive for everyone to enjoy.

Meet The Team

Ron Scott
Percussionist - Lead and Background Vocals
Born and raised in the Washington DC area, Ron has been a part of the DC music mix since Jr. High School. He also went on to play with local bands that featured Jazz, R&B, and Latin. Ron also had the pleasure of playing with Experience Unlimited for 3 years while they cranked out a few hits from the Future Funk Album.

Sharon Thomas
Sax - Background Vocals
Sharon B. Thomas’ ever-broadening musical career has spanned over a decade as an accomplished tenor and soprano saxophonist. She has performed with numerous local bands at various clubs, hotels, restaurants, festivals, convention centers, churches, etc. Sharon has been invited to sit in and jam with a variety of well-known bands up and down the East Coast, as well as play with nationally established recording artists on TV. She has also played at The White House for President Obama and other dignitaries.

Quinton Knox
Lead Guitar - Lead and Background Vocals
Guitarist/vocalist Alternating between singing and or playing R&B, rock, funk, old school, doo-wop, Motown, Acapella, gospel, pop, southern soul, blues, and alternative. A native Washingtonian who has been entertaining for more than fifty years locally as well as nationally. Favorite guitar influences are Eric Gales, Jeff Beck, Nile Rodgers, Santana. Favorite vocalists are Fairfield four, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Phil Perry.

Paul Bumbry
Keyboard - Lead and Background Vocals
Paul A. Bumbry – A fixture in the local Washington, D.C. music scene for the last forty-plus years. Trumpet, keyboards, and a smooth, seductive 2nd tenor voice are the tools that have kept him active musically for decades! A perfectionist by nature, he spends countless hours practicing his craft in order to deliver high-quality performances and authentic recreations of multiple genres of music.

Chris Davis is a native of Washington DC. He grew up playing the clarinet before switching to the saxophone. He was a member of DC Youth Orchestra and the McDonald's All-American High School Band. This saxophonist enjoys playing all genres of music including gospel, jazz, concert, classical and R&B.

Johnathan Brabham
Bass Guitar
Johnathan was born in Washington, D.C. While watching other bands, Johnathan was influenced to pick up his instrument, which he has significantly mastered. Johnathan decided to go back to school to study music and eventually received a VA degree in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University. Johnathan returned to DC in 2001 and played with local bands with his funky style of playing and singing, which is the heartbeat of RAW
